It Ain't Nothing but a "G" thang - Ragonda Menefield Stallworth

7:22:00 AM

YaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaY It's Friday!

In Honor of Valdosta State University’s Homecoming, I decided to feature a fellow Blazer! I will not be going to homecoming this year (again, lol) because I will be getting ready for the AIDSWalk Atlanta! So I wish all my fellow Alumni a Great Homecoming weekend. Be Safe! Party Hard! I hope you took Monday off to recuperate.  (Much love to the Ladies of the Captivating Alpha Theta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta, Inc)

This young lady, I met I think around my freshmen or sophomore year of college in the VSU Mass Choir. She has always had swagg even before it was called swagg. She even had the coolest nickname “G”. (Love It!) She has a beautifully sultry voice that is smooth and soothing like hot soup on a cold winter’s night. I mean this chic can SANG! I have always loved her spirit, respected her style and walk with JC (Jesus Christ). When I saw her new page about her new natural hair care products (natural hair sistas please stand-up), I just knew I had to feature her on Extraordinary Friday.

It is my pleasure and my honor to introduce….

What is an interesting fact about you?

I consider myself a nerd but a cool one lol.

What is your personal mission statement? Words you live by?

Knowledge is Power and the key to success.

What is the name of your business/organization?

Natural Healthy Hair Diva (llc)

How is this business/organization impacting women’s lives?

It allows women to enjoy natural hair and empower them with knowledge of how to care for their hair so  it is in its healthiest state. It  also impacts women by giving them hands on tools to teach them to how style their own hair. One the main things I hear from a lot of naturals is what do I do with my hair, how do I moisturize, and mostly being natural is too expensive. My customers want to know the following:

“What do I do with my hair?” There are endless possibilities from twist outs, micro twist blow outs etc.

“How do I Moisturize?” True moisture is water, a cream moisturizer and moisturizing sealant to seal in the moisture you put in your hair.

“Natural Hair is too expensive?” It is the goal of my company to make products that quality and affordable to all.

What was your aha moment?

In the last year, I was wearing relaxed hair all of my edges were bald; I was only in my early 30s and knew that this was not attractive. I made the decision to go natural. I kept spending money on products that claimed to grow my hair but through research, I realized none of their claims were true. None of these so called “Miracle Growth” products had ingredients to stimulate growth. Soon after, I begin to research how to properly take care of my scalp and what herbs and oils stimulate the scalp for health hair growth. I quickly developed my own hot oil treatment and daily scalp therapy. In the course of a year of using my own formula and having a good hair care regimen my edges were no longer bald. After the success of my own personal hair growth, I knew it was time to create a line for women to achieve beautiful healthy hair.

Many times I hear women think their lives are over when they make a mistake, what encouraging advice would you give?

Mistake are going to be made and instead of focusing on what you did wrong focus on what you can do right the next time.

Today we hear a lot about work/life balance. How do you balance being a wife, entrepreneur/leader & etc…

Mmmm this is tough one I have always had to shuffle several things at one time in fact I so I micro manage myself. I literally make tasks list for the day and the week. (That's a good idea; I need to try this.)

When I was working on my first book I had this song I always listen to keep me going. It was “Closer to My Dreams” by Goapele. What is the song(s) that keeps you moving?

I would say that there are two. “He’s able “by Darwin Hobbs and “Hustle Hard” I have no idea who it’s by
